This album is one of the albums i was most looking forward to. From the second the band announced their reunion I was fully invested. With the release of each single afterward i was more and more sold on the album. Going into this album just know nostalgia is very real, At least for me it is.
From the moment "Say You Ever" starts a experience occurs that very rarely occurs for me anymore, That being the ability to not only stay focused on the entire album but have every song i hear become my new favorite track on the album. From track to track the overall listening experience gets better and better. Honestly the only complaint i have is that the album ended, Which admittedly is a stupid complaint. The instrumentals are incredible, Every note is crafted to perfection. Lyrically every song is damn near perfection upon first listen, With each new listen afterwards it gets closer and closer to perfection. Vocally Nixon has never sounded better, Give "Forgiveness Is an Art" A listen and you will agree. Even the track "Maeve" which was originally recorded for Nixon's project Sumner Roots during the band's hiatus made the album which i was extremely happy about. This album is interesting to me even more due to the fact that even though it is the first new album in 6 years it still feels like listening to the same band just more experienced.
Upon listening to this album i am incredibly grateful to not only be listening to a new Framing Hanley album, But to also have hope for the future of the band. I greatly look forward to everything the band has to come in the future and will definitley be checking it all out.
Overall Rating: 10/10
Favorite Tracks: Maeve, Carousel, Counterfeit, Baggage Claim, Forgiveness Is an Art
