Consisting of 6 songs (4 Reimagined Versions and 2 Original) this EP shows off a completely new side of Slaves. Starting off with the brand new track "Body On Fire", The EP Starts off strong and continues growing. Jonny Craig showcases why he is such a powerhouse vocalist throughout the entirety of the project. The acoustic version of "I'd Rather See Your Star Explode" shows off an even more beautiful rendition to an already beautiful song. The acoustic version "True Colors" adds a very new feeling of emotion to it compared too the original, Showcasing an almost Pop/R&B feel to it. Right from the start "The Pact" is greatly more emotional than the original, The added various different string instruments make an already emotional song hit so much harder. The new track "Down For The Ride" showcases a side of Slaves that I personally want to see way more often, Featuring lyrics that are both greatly personal but also about a special person it is a beautiful addition not only to the EP but to Slaves entire catalog of music. Serving as the only rendition not from Slaves 2018 album "Beautiful Death", "My Soul Is Empty And Full Of White Girls" was not only one of my favorites from their debut album but also concludes the EP very well.
The overall new spin on previous tracks as well as the newly created 2 tracks worked for me very much. It not only shows a side of Slaves not often seen but also shows the familiar beauty that band is very much known for.
Overall Rating: 8.5/10
Favorite Tracks: The Pact, Down For The Ride
