Trent. - Trying To Be Less Toxic (EP)

                                                 Genre: Alternative R&B/ Hip Hop?

                                                 Label: STYLLS

With A total 0f 5 tracks this EP serves as the debut project of Trent.. With a sound both familiar & all new I am immediately hooked on the project the second it starts. For all new fans Trent. has been making a name for himself in the music scene, For me the introduction was made when he was announced to join Craig Owens as a member of badXchannels (Which i'll be honest im not sure if he is still a member but im pretty sure he is), from there i found out he made sold music with the release of  his track Wrist (Not on this EP).

From start to finish this project has a very refreshing sound and feel to it. With beats feeling suitable for any artist making what is considered "Trap" and vocals feeling like he would fit in very well in today's rock scene you would not expect it to be more closely home in the pop (or what i am calling Alternative R&B) genre. The lyrics are very well written and the vocals are beautifully crafted to mesh with the instrumental in a way I personally did not expect to hear. The project gives me similar vibes to the previously mentioned badXchannels and also Joji, in the sense it is so different from anything else in their respective genres. For anyone who is a fan of more Hip hop oriented Pop (Not really pop but i don't know what else to call it), This is a must hear debut from an artist I truly believe has a big future ahead of him. It is an overall great experience from start to finish. I strongly suggest anyone who reads this to give this project a listen.

Nasty Boi - The Nasty Tape

This artist came into my life at the perfect time. When i had not only refound my love of Hip Hop, But also my love of Youtube. So before i jump into the review let me introduce this artist, His name is Bobby Burns and he is a Youtuber. I like alot of people found Bobby through youtuber Shane Dawson, However among watching his channel i also saw he recorded music. Now in all honesty going into the very first song he released called "Lemonade" i was not truly expecting to like it. At first listen i fell in love with his music and could not wait to hear more. Coming in with a style of Hip Hop that reminds me of $uicideboy$ & some XXXTENTACION tracks it's safe to say this style is not for everybody, However i feel that anyone who gives it a chance will find something they enjoy in the music. Now that the Intoduction is complete let's jump into the project.

From the opening track on the project i was hooked, Not only are the beats amazing but the lyrics and vocals are perfectly suited to them. It's very outstanding to me that this is his debut project, It definitely is very well produced for a debut project. The biggest selling point for me was in whole the project was very much different sounding from song to song. Lyrically you can tell that Nasty was having a blast recording this project, With both fun joking style of lyrics and real and real and relatable style lyrics this project has everything I look for in Hip Hop nowadays. In full the project is very much a refreshing take on Hip Hop (Which is why I fell out of love with it for a bit). My final thoughts are from what i've heard i strongly believe Nasty Boi has a real future ahead of him, He came out the gate swinging on this project and I look forward to hearing what he has to offer in the Future.

Joe Settineri - Hello Goodbye (Single)

This song is very unusual in the sense of modern pop music, I mean this in the best way possible. It's a style of pop that you don't hear too often anymore. The overall style reminds me of early Train music which does not hurt. The lyrics are beautifully written, The Instrumental is a very well made piano melody. The vocal's are a perfect match to the song in full. I will most definately be looking into seeing what comes next for Joe Settineri.

By pure luck while scrolling through youtube one day in 2014 i came across a artist i had never heard of before, His name was Alex Bent but he was releasing music as Alex Bent + The Emptiness. At first listen i knew this was an artist who's career I would follow til the end. As each new release comes out the feeling keeps getting more concrete. This project does not break that streak if anything this project shows me personally how much I completely love the art created by Alex. Opening up with the previously released "Vanilla Blue" the project concludes just as strong as it start's. I have been told personally by Alex that this project is what he wanted his debut project to be, While I personally loved his debut project this one was definately a step up. Every lyric and instrumental is crafted perfectly. Going through many different emotions this project is chalk full of everything I personally want in "Pop Music"(Which I Hate putting A label on this). I have told Alex that I felt this was going to be a big new step in his career and I was not wrong but I also undersold how big of a new step it would be. For any previous fans this will make you very happy and any one who has not become a fan will definately find their own something to love about this project.

This is a band that im always excited to see what comes next from them, And everytime i witness the next chapter in their career im just as surprised and excited with the results. From the moment you hit play on "Wake Up" it's obvious these guys mean business. It's very rare that a band has such a calculated strategy for making an album, However that is exactly the case with From Ashes To New. You can hear the hard work and passion in every lyric, vocal, guitar riff etc. This album is filled to the brim with catchy and melodic tracks from start to finish. All in all this is a must listen to album for any fan of the band or for that case any fan of Rap and Rock music, It is the perfect blend of everything I personally love in music.

From the moment I heard about this project i suspected it would be great, However it was not until hitting play on this album i knew how great it would be.From the second the album starts with "Blood Thinner" it's obvious Kurt Travis, Sergio Medina & Joseph Arrington make up a damn good band. From start to finish this album is a very exciting ride through the minds of three very talented individuals. The all around feeling I get from this album is one I personally have not gotten from a "Post Hardcore" album in a while, I even have difficulty labeling this album as a specific genre because of how diverse it feels. With aggressive feeling tracks like "Calm And Composed" or the previously released "Anything To Save" mixed with the slower paced chiller songs like "De Rien" or "Love Again" it's hard to put a finger on which songs will speak to people most. Personally i have not found a song to dislike all the way through, Neither do i feel like this is an album i would want to hit skip on any song. Overall this album is a strong insight of what the future holds for Royal Coda, With such a strong debut i don't have a doubt we will get even more greatness in the future from the band.

Deuce - Invincible

                               Genre: Hip Hop/Rock

This is an album that i have been trying to post my review of for the longest time. I originally received this album to review around 2 weeks before release, however life kept getting in the way. Between personal problems at home and issues with my former review blog it was not working out in my favor. I finally realized that the only way I was gonna get this review up was if i start from scratch. In the end it was worth it because between my love for the music Deuce put's out and the awesome manager in charge of press for this album i was not going to stop until i got this review up for the world. There were many delays of this album since it's original announcement, however in my opinion it was worth the wait. from start to finish the album keeps my attention (Which is honestly pretty difficult). Starting off with the very Hip Hop heavy "Here I Come" and concluding with the Rock heavy "Pull Me Under" Invincible has 14 track of pure entertainment. Throughout the 14 tracks you have many styles to choose from between rap infused rock song's to rock infused rap songs and even an almost pop punk song in "Catch Me If You Can". Instrumentally the album is perfectly all over the place, Lyrically each song let's out the feelings of Deuce in the moments of writing them. vocally Deuce does not disappoint, Between the very well crafted rapping in songs like "Here i Come" or "Bitch This is It" and the beautiful singing in songs like "Thank You" or even the pop punk infused "Catch Me If You Can". Band member James Kloeppel provides some incredible heavy screams in A few tracks like "Hell's Gonna Break Lose" and "World On Fire". Overall I would suggest this album to everyone and anyone who likes rap or rock and have not listened to it, It is an album that for me personally I don't get tired of easily. Since it's release in December of last year it has not left my daily playlist and wont be anytime soon. It's also very important I note here Deuce has easily one of the most dedicated fan bases in music with me including myself in that.
